Worst Valentine’s Ever - An insight into a romantic day at Sidepodcast HQ

Published by Ryan Gault

On 14th February 2009, Christine expected much, but got very little. Here are the comments she shared during the worst Valentine’s day ever.

  • So far for Valentine’s Day, Mr C has taken me to the hairdresser… and got his own hair cut. He’s now talking about getting a takeaway tonight. I bet I have to make the call.
  • We are out buying wine now. Things are looking up.
  • Have to stop at the garage too. Any bets on fuel-stop flowers as well?
  • No flowers, but a Milkybar instead.
  • The height of chivalry. He parked too close to the hedge and I had to climb out the drivers side.
  • He’s just stolen some of my Milkybar.
  • Back home now, and a brief respite in the non-stop romantics whilst we sit at our laptops. I thought he mentioned pearls… he was talking about coding.
  • Somehow, on Valentine’s Day, I am being asked if I saw Danica in Sports Illustrated. This man is clueless.
  • Takeaway is on it’s way, and I have not had any hand in it. We are making progress.

However, here are some of the poems shared in the comments to try and make her feel better.

Roses are red

Violets are blue

I love Sidepodcast

And so should you

Roses are red

Violets are blue

I love you Nick

Even more than Sidepodcast too

Alenyaa

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

We love Sidepodcast,

And Christine at that too

Button is Red

Franck is Blue

We know that she’s married

But Christine loves you too

Giggles

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth of your articles

and for the Sidepodpanels where I was christened Giggles,

For the lack of Bernie and of Max.

And for building a system for getting live facts!

I love thee freely, for the greatest podcast;

I love thee purely, for talking so fast,

I love thee with the passion of an F1 fan

For understanding community better than Bernie can.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

When Murray retired,—and through James I snoozed,

Smiles, tears, of all my life!—and, if Christine choose,

to call me on Skype, I won’t refuse.

There once was a site called Sidepodcast

Which discussed all F1 things that go fast

Christine is her name

And Mr C in the game

’Twas these two made our love of these cars so last
