New F1 names to follow on Twitter - 2014 rookies amass followers

Published by Mr. C

A new F1 season brings with it new drivers and thus new personalities to follow online. Two rookie names have been announced so far, with STR's Daniil Kvyat and McLaren's Kevin Magnussen both set on making their Grand Prix debut in March.

It is interesting to watch the rate at which these new F1 entrants gain followers on social media sites such at Twitter. Kvyat was confirmed for the second seat at STR back in October, and at the time of writing has amassed 11,422 followers. Magnussen meanwhile, named as a McLaren driver nearly a month later, totals a relatively huge 27,538.

Notably, Magnussen's account already sports a verified account badge, while Kvyat remains the sole tweet-savvy F1 driver without one. On the plus side both Kvyat and Magnussen already have more followers than the still absent Vettel or Räikkönen.

Don't forget you can follow and compare hundreds of verified and unverified F1 Twitter accounts on Sidepodcast. Throughout the coming season we'll be keeping a close eye on how these fresh faces make use of their new found popularity.
