Behind the scenes in Bahrain - Pulling back the covers on Formula 1 media

Published by Mr. C

F1 insiders are becoming more and more keen to share insight into how they go about their business during a Grand Prix weekend. Following images from 5Live detailing their commentary setup in Malaysia, both NBC and Sky Sports personnel provide more contributions from Bahrain.

Jason Swales, producer for F1 on NBC Sports shared this brilliant image of pit reporter Will Buxton recording voice-overs in a hotel room. A convenient bath robe helps solve the perennial problem of room reverberations, damping the harsh reflections normally experienced from flat brick walls.

It's not an attractive sight, but it (mostly) works.

Another welcome image came from Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft, who offered up this detailed snapshot of his qualifying commentary notes. Five more teams are listed on the reverse, while the white space offers room for any overnight changes and updates. Great stuff.
