Tweets of the Week - Schumacher's turn in the spotlight - Reliving the action from the latest Grand Prix

Published by Christine

If anyone could take the heat off Ferrari, it had to be their former employee - a certain Michael Schumacher. Far from an uneventful Hungarian Grand Prix, there were incidents aplenty both in and out of the pitlane. Twitter has been awash with complaints about conduct and here are some of the thoughts from those in the know.

Week Ending: 1st August 2010

1. Sitting the weekend out, Karun thinks of ways to cheer himself up. I've always recommended chocolate in the past, but he's going for the healthier option.

if you're not in a good mood, i seriously recommend getting on your cycle for 75km....nothing like a good solo ride to clear your head up !!

2. Inter-team rivalries extend far beyond just the drivers, you know.

Currently 22,000 followers and only 40 behind my boss Tony Fernandes. He will be p****d off if I have more than him

3. I'm a Lucas fan, but I'm not so sure that hashtag is going to catch on.

Hungaroring is a tough track to find the optimum setup. We agreed to go aggressive tomorrow to try to pick up some performance. #GoVirgin

4. New game - how many times can you fit the word driveshaft into a single tweet?

Tonio's car will have driveshaft change but no gearbox change. it was a faulty driveshaft boot that seals the grease to the driveshaft joint

5. So we come to post-race thoughts and the Schumacher fallout begins.

Schumacher is a trending topic. Wonder why? Probably because he is such a good ambassador for the FIA's Make Roads Safe campaign.

6. It really wasn't a popular move in the paddock.

Saw replay of Rube V Schu: Guy spends 5 years holding the door open for you; you repay that by trying to bury him in a concrete wall. Nice

7. Thankfully, there were no major injuries from that errant wheel. They build those mechanics tough these days.

In the podcast you can hear from Nigel... That's the guy who got hit by the bouncing pit lane wheel!! I think he damaged the wheel more!!

8. Nico forgets his manners, but all is forgiven thanks to a good result.

The Hulk had a great day, best career finish in F1, but got told off for saying a rude word on the BBC....the only downside on a good day!

9. A picture paints a thousand words, and a tweet paints a serene picture.

Sun setting at Hungaroring. Fans are all gone but someone's left a "Happy Birthday Fernando" banner in the empty grandstand.

10. A final word on Schumacher. Hardcore.
