Tweets of the Week - Everyone's got an opinion - A brand new circuit, with experiences for everyone

Published by Christine

This week, Twitter has been filled with everything happening in India. From the first arrivals, to discovering issues in the media centre, to dealing with hotel rooms, we've heard everything behind the scenes. Once the action got going, there has been talk of dogs on track, of how disappointing the racing was, but what an excellent host India was. Here are my top ten tweets of the week.

Week Ending: 31st October 2011

1. Heikki discusses Team Lotus' decision not to run Chandhok at his home race.

The team makes the decision based on performance, and in my opinion they made the right choice. Everyone's got an opinion and that's mine

2. The Buddh International Circuit and its surroundings have provided new experiences for everyone.

3. Unexpected side effects of troublesome power cuts.

Suitable end to day when unable to swipe out of paddock turnstile due to power outage. Bernie, I did leave. Honest.

4. Imagine three race tyres! That would make locking up really costly!

#F1 No tyre issues after F1, track very dirty, lap times already in line with pre race sim. Hard tyre could last 3 races ...Tad conservative

5. There was quite a lot of chopping and changing on Saturday.

By my calculations after the penalties only seven drivers are actually starting where they qualified - and only Glock outside top 10

6. Gradually, the championship is getting sewn up, place by place.

McLaren secure 2nd place in the Formula 1 constructors championship after todays result in India. Good to be in front of Ferrari comfortably

7. You have to take figures with a pinch of salt, clearly, but good numbers.

Official figures - 95000 very proud Indians saw the historic first Grand Prix at the track today !!

All the positive noises coming from #IndianGP this w/e will encourage more folks to experience India next year and beyond. Not so with Korea

9. Smiley happy champion!

Sebastian Vettel is in the lounge. Smiley. Polite. He says goodbye to everyone. Top bloke for a multi-millionaire, multi-champion

10. We started with a home driver being denied, but we'll end with one who experienced all the joys of his own country.

A dawn of a new era for India, felt privileged being a part of it. Couldnt have asked for a better inaugural home GP. Thank you all.
