Toro Rosso drivers remain unconfirmed - Liuzzi and Speed are in the frame, but no announcement yet

Gerhard Berger, the boss of Toro Rosso, has decided that he doesn't mind being the only team who have not confirmed their drivers for 2007. Although Liuzzi and Speed drove for the team last year, and seemed to do a pretty good job, nothing has been set in stone for next year.

Some have said that this may be because Berger is looking to get a driver who is willing to pay so that the team's budget will go just that little bit further. Monteiro and Karthikeyan have both been the subject of rumours around the team, but Berger has dismissed the idea.

Of course Tonio and Scott are in pole position for the drives in 2007. We just had to sort out other things. We are not in a hurry to name drivers.

The only other name on the list is Sébastian Bourdais, but he is not due until 2008. "He was quite impressive. He is certainly in the frame for 2008."

Gerhard Berger is a man of short sentences. I like that.
