Mercedes wrapped up the constructor's championship several races ago, so the nerves were transferred to the Williams team, as they hoped to secure third from Ferrari. Their double podium finish allowed that to happen - in fact they pulled out a significant gap over the Scuderia once both cars had crossed the line.

Sauber end the season without points, and finish behind Marussia who couldn't even attend the final three races. Lotus only managed ten points, and their year was summed up nicely by Maldonado's fiery race exit.
