Starting grid - Spain 2014 - Vergne and Vettel take penalties and Maldonado is cleared to start

Jean-Éric Vergne was the first to be given a penalty, a ten place grid drop due to an unsafe release during practice. The Toro Rosso ended up minus one wheel, which resulted in the team getting a fine, and the driver dropping down the order. Sebastian Vettel was also given a five place grid drop after his qualifying session came to an early conclusion due to a gearbox failure. The replacement component means he's down five places from where he qualified.
Pastor Maldonado didn't manage to qualify, crashing into the barriers less than five minutes into the first session. The stewards have given him permission to race, no doubt based on the better lap times Lotus have been posting this weekend. He'll be last on the grid.
