Daniel Ricciardo put in a great drive in Bahrain on Saturday to post the third fastest time, but his work was diminished somewhat by the ten place grid penalty hanging over his head from Sepang. After an unsafe release by the team in Malaysia, Ricciardo drops down behind his teammate.

Adrian Sutil also faces a penalty, after being found to have impeded Romain Grosjean during qualifying. Interestingly, Grosjean had said it looked closer than it was, and wasn't bothered about receiving an apology from the German, but the stewards still opted for a grid drop and a couple of penalty points for the Sauber driver.
