Spanish Wednesday: 19th January 2011 - An update on the tennis and football situation in Spain, with added vocabulary

Published by Amandoloss

How are you today? I hope you're doing fabulous and if not I hope this humble post will cheer you up a little bit. There's absolutely nothing going on in Formula 1. Except that Fernando said he's expecting Ferrari to be more aggressive. Having said that there has been nothing more, from the Spanish point of view, I can report about.

I finally managed to listen to F1 Debrief. Christine and Mr C discuss HRT so I think it counts for here. A little bit.

There's big tennis action time in Melbourne and we've got good, old footie, so let us start with the news.

Noticias

Rafa Nadal moved into the second round of the Australian Open, but the first match wasn't very challenging and quite short as his opponent, Brazilian Marcos Daniel, had to retire due to an injured knee. Here he is giving an interview after his 47 minute win. On Thursday he is going to play against Ryan Sweeting.

Yesterday there was a cracking match between David Nalbadian (Argentina) and Lleyton Hewitt - an epic game of tennis that was.

On Monday night Atletico played Mallorca and won 3:0. It's about time they scored some goals and points. Watch the highlights and Diego's goal over here. On Thursday it is Copa del Rey time and Atletico Madrid are playing their eternal rival Real Madrid. Make sure you tune in!

Today's short Spanish Lesson is all about the racetrack.
