Under the flood lighting at the Marina Bay circuit, Lewis Hamilton took his second pole position in a row with a super fast, super smooth lap. Behind him, Pastor Maldonado proved his speed for second, whilst Williams teammate Bruno Senna hit the wall and was unable to participate any further, dropping out in Q2. The Mercedes duo got through to the final session but opted not to set a time, whilst Romain Grosjean outqualified his teammate.
