Second day of Barcelona test sees Vettel fastest again - Red Bull remain on top of the timesheets as F1 testing continues

Published by Christine

Red Bull continued to dominate testing in Barcelona, as Sebastian Vettel posted the fastest time for the second day in a row. The team were running qualifying simulations which allowed Vettel to jump to the top of the timesheets.

Jaime Alguersuari moved up a place from yesterday, finishing second in the Toro Rosso, with Fernando Alonso third for Ferrari - despite some lengthy mechanical troubles.

Two drivers got chances with new teams as Tonio Liuzzi turned up to test in the Hispania car, he completed 70 laps without incident. Lotus welcomed Ricardo Teixeira into the car, and he completed 26 laps, finishing bottom of the timesheets. The team were still impressed though:

Ricardo out for nother run on a fresher set of tyres. Working his way down and getting use to it without any mistakes.

There were a couple of red flags throughout the day, but most of the teams had reliability niggles. Williams were one of the exceptions, though, with Rubens Barrichello completing an epic 116 laps without a problem. Compared to their previous days of testing, that is quite the achievement.
