Rate the race - Malaysia 2014 // Cast your vote on the Sepang racing, stewards and more

Published by Christine

Two races in and F1 2014 is starting to take shape. The racing in Sepang wasn't, perhaps, a complete classic and the lack of rain during the Grand Prix impacted on what could have been an intriguing end. But this is your chance to vote on the race, and rate it out of five. Let us know what you've gone for and how the race stacked up for you.

Surprisingly, the rain held off for the racing in Sepang, despite a threat of precipitation hovering over the track towards the end of the Grand Prix. Mercedes continued to show their domination, but behind them, there was chaos. The stewards got involved after a couple of incidents, we had pit lane problems for Red Bull, and a team orders situation at Williams. This is your chance to rate the race, with one star being a poor event and five stars being a top notch afternoon.

As well as the race as a whole, we're asking for a couple of other votes regarding the race this weekend in Malaysia. The stewards got to work handing out a couple of penalties, whilst the post-race podium interview took on a new and refreshing shape. Cast your vote on both these items now.

The stewards were wide awake for this weekend's race, getting involved in a handful of incidents. From the penalty for Bottas for impeding in qualifying, to a couple of five second penalties during the race for Bianchi and Magnussen for causing collisions, they signed off with a hard penalty for Daniel Ricciardo after he was released from a pit stop with a wheel only half attached. Rate the stewarding actions this weekend, with one star being too harsh and five stars being totally fair.

Rate the post-race podium interviews

It was a surprise to see Sherlock and Star Trek star Benedict Cumberbatch take to the podium to guide the post-race interviews with the top three drivers. Cumberbatch proved he had done his homework about the sport, asking some insightful questions about the race just gone. He did almost lose control of Nico Rosberg at one point, though. Rate the choice of interviewer here, one star for a pointless celebrity signing or five stars for an inspired selection.

Finally, the crucial vote for driver of the day. It was a difficult afternoon, hot and humid, with some hard racing to be completed. Who did a good enough job to get your vote for the best racer of the day?
