Lewis Hamilton didn't put a foot wrong during the Chinese Grand Prix, except for one tiny little off, that saw him turn pole position into his third consecutive race victory. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso had a good race with a podium result, after a collision with Felipe Massa at the first corner. The Williams driver suffered a hefty pit lane problem as well, which pushed him down the order.

Retirements included Adrian Sutil with a power unit problem, and Romain Grosjean who suffered a gearbox failure.

The chequered flag was actually shown a lap too early, meaning the FIA forced a countback on the race results. This only affects Kamui Kobayashi, who overtook Jules Bianchi on the final lap, but as the race results are picked up the end of lap 54, rather than 56, that no longer counts.
