Mercedes dominated the sessions, with Red Bull close behind. The real battle was between the teammates with Hamilton and Rosberg falling out big time. Nico ended Q3 off track, bringing out the yellow flags and stopping anyone else from snatching pole position from his grasp.

Nevertheless, qualifying featured more than just two cars - Toro Rosso had a good run in Monte Carlo, whilst Williams struggled. Felipe Massa and Marcus Ericsson had a collision which ended their sessions.
