Qualifying results - China 2014 - Lewis Hamilton sweeps to British pole position record

Lewis Hamilton was almost untouchable throughout the entire qualifying session but the same cannot be said for his Mercedes teammate. Nico Rosberg ended up fourth fastest, after spinning on his final flying lap, and allowing both the Red Bull drivers ahead of him.
Pastor Maldonado failed to start qualifying, after his Free Practice 3 sensor problem was unable to be fixed in time for the sessions to begin. On the flip side, Romain Grosjean got into Q3, settling for tenth place on the grid - a good result for the struggling Lotus team.
Kimi Räikkönen dropped out of qualifying in the second session, whilst Fernando Alonso surged to fifth place. The two Williams drivers finished behind the Spaniard, putting together a good qualifying in the wet conditions.
