The headline results may make F1 2014 sound as though nothing has changed - Mercedes and Red Bull vying for pole position - but things certainly are different. A smattering of rain throughout the sessions mixed things up and made tyre choice crucial, but also slightly easier for the race tomorrow. Kimi Räikkönen crashed his Ferrari, Daniil Kvyat knocked the wall in his Toro Rosso, whilst both Williams drivers found their cars difficult to control.

Sebastian Vettel failed to get into the top ten, leaving Daniel Ricciardo to impress the home crowd with his attempts at pole position. He split the Mercedes duo, with Hamilton securing P1 and Rosberg settling in on the second row of the grid. Alongside him, an impressive Kevin Magnussen, who pulled the maximum out of his McLaren in the first qualifying of his F1 career.
