Persistantly inconsistant - Deciding whether to like Mark Webber or not

Published by Christine

Mr C very kindly pointed out that on yesterday's show, I said I liked Mark Webber. When all we have done for the past 16 episodes is berate him.

Well, firstly I'd like to say that I am female and therefore inconsistent is my middle name. Secondly, I like Webber because he is honest, but that doesn't mean I can't make fun of him for being unable to finish a race.

Honest drivers are my favourite. Webber is not afraid to call himself a 'big girl's blouse', or other people if the case may be. Alex Wurz is another one I like for his refreshing honesty. If you've listened to the Williams podcast, you'll have heard his recaps of race weekends and he is both funny and honest. On the ITV coverage yesterday, he was asked what he thought about Nick Heidfeld: "He needs a shave."

Ha. That's brilliant. And he really does.

The other side of the coin isn't drivers who lie but is generally people being cagey about things. Michael Schumacher, for example, always looked like he was carefully planning every word he said. We've said before how Lewis Hamilton is Mr Corporate.

So, you can see what I'm saying. We like Mark Webber, even though he's been struggling of late. Right?
