I seem to recall the name Olivier Panis which leads me to believe that he drove an F1 car during one of the early years that I watched. I've only been watching for about four years, and I've only really been paying attention in the last two, so it wouldn't be surprising.

It matters not, anyway, becaue the Toyota test driver is hanging up his helmet for the final time. Aged 40, Panis retired from driving a couple of years ago, to take the test drive for the Japanese team. Today he drove his last ever test and will be saying goodbye to F1.

To celebrate, Toyota gave Panis a small secion of the Jerez tarmac, which makes me wonder if there were any punctures during the day. They also gave him a signed rear wing end plate, and there was a celebration cake.
