Monaco 2012 - Free Practice 1 results - Fernando Alonso leads, as Heikki Kovalainen's engine gives up

Published by Christine

The first session of practice in Monaco was brought to an abrupt halt when Heikki Kovalainen's Renault engine gave up on him in the midst of the tunnel. The Caterham driver's session was over, as it was for everyone else. Fernando Alonso ending the morning on top, whilst Kimi Räikkönen was bottom of the order - having not set a time as the team busily worked on changing his steering. The pace of the Lotus was left to Grosjean to display, and he finished FP1 in second position.
