Nico Rosberg showed he knows his home circuit pretty well by taking P1, whilst Robert Kubica couldn't set a time and ended up last. The Brawn GP pair were close to the top, whilst Toyota continued to struggle, seeing Timo Glock 18th and Jarno Trulli 14th.
