Italy 2011 - Rate the race - Cast your vote on the driver of the day and the Grand Prix itself

Published by Christine

A beautiful sunny day in Monza, and a race that had just a little bit of everything. Safety cars are not common around the Autodromo but there it was, after a first corner incident caused chaos. Sebastian Vettel took the win, though, so the action at the very front was limited. But, what did you make of the Italian Grand Prix?

Driver of the day

This one is tricky. Sebastian Vettel showed something of a spark when he overtook Fernando Alonso to retake the lead. He then proceeded to drive away from the rest at a circuit that is not designed to suit the Red Bull drivers. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton was struggling past Schumacher - was it good defensive driving from the veteran or was he pushing the limits? There were so many retirements that Driver of the Day choices are curtailed a little bit - but who do you think deserves it for their performance today at Monza?
