Italy 2011 - Free Practice 1 results - McLaren secure a 1-2 finish in the first Friday session

Published by Christine

Although it's a gorgeous sunny day at Monza, it still took more than half an hour for any serious practice got underway. Red Bull took to the top of the timesheets first, but it was Lewis Hamilton who set the pace - only to be beaten by himself towards the very end of the session. It was a relatively incident free session, although Heikki Kovalainen had to end his session early after some gearbox trouble. Jérôme D'Ambrosio also stopped out on track towards the end of the morning's action.
