Thankfully, Giancarlo Fisichella was not last, the Italian managing to claw his way to 14th place on the grid. Meanwhile, the BMW drivers both suffered engine trouble, but in better news, Lewis Hamilton took pole position. Adrian Sutil continued to show good pace, securing second on the grid.
