Häkkinen hanging around // Mika contemplates a spectator role only

It's been doing the rounds for a while, but apparently there is no truth to the idea that Mika Häkkinen will be returning to the F1 racing scene. The double World Champion is contemplating a return to the paddock as an advisor for McLaren, but he definitely doesn't want to get back on the track.

Ron Dennis has confirmed the fact.

He showed a very keen interest in the team and the original intention of going to Brazil was to be at the last GP, see the outcome of the world championship and that almost rekindled his emotional involvement in the team. As regards him being an option for McLaren to race, I think that is a somewhat hypthetical.

The Finn won both his titles with McLaren and retired in 2001, so it would be somewhat unlikely to expect him back in a race seat. But we are seeing more and more familiar faces return to take ambassador roles within teams, so I would hardly be surprised if this continued the trend.
