Lewis Hamilton returned to the top of the timesheets but the session didn't go all Mercedes way. Rosberg left it late to head out on track on the softest of the tyre compounds but couldn't do any better than third fastest. Meanwhile, Max Chilton was complaining vociferously about the handling of his Marussia, whilst the Caterham pair found themselves often in the way of passing traffic.

Overall it was another clean session, with just a couple of brushes against the barrier but no real incidents.
