There was more spinning to be seen in second practice for the US Grand Prix weekend, particularly for Romain Grosjean. The Lotus driver lost control over the kerbs and headed sideways with a screech of tyres, luckily avoiding contact with anything or anyone. Jenson Button found himself getting frustrated with difficult communications due to a faulty radio, whilst Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo couldn't get the cars working to their liking.

Lewis Hamilton found his Mercedes developed a gearbox problem but that didn't stop him taking the top spot yet again. This time, teammate Nico Rosberg was just three thousandths of a second behind, clinging to the coattails of the championship leader so far this weekend.
