Free Practice 2 results - Malaysia 2014 - Nico Rosberg takes over the top spot in second Sepang session

The Lotus woes continued into the afternoon in Malaysia, with Pastor Maldonado unable to make it out of the garage after the problems of the morning. Romain Grosjean did manage to complete 14 laps, but then slowed to a halt with gearbox trouble. The Renault-powered Caterham team also struggled, with Marcus Ericsson slowest of those that set a time, and Kamui Kobayashi stuck in the pit lane.

Out on track, Max Chilton spun off, but the Williams pair were showing some good early pace. Fernando Alonso also continued to show Ferrari's slight improvement, whilst Kimi Räikkönen made it two sessions in a row in the second fastest slot. As expected, it was Mercedes on top, however, with Nico Rosberg fastest for FP2.
