Lewis Hamilton's car sat in the garage for much of the session after developing electrical issues, leaving Nico Rosberg to remain unchallenged at the top of the times. Ferrari continued to show pace from the morning session, with Williams gradually improving on their own times.

Sebastian Vettel was the best placed Red Bull driver, finishing seventh, with teammate Daniel Ricciardo a couple of places behind. Further down, Romain Grosjean finished third from last, after getting back in the car after sitting out first practice.
