Lewis Hamilton snatched the top spot from Nico Rosberg, stretching the gap between the two to almost four tenths of a second. Long runs were the order of the afternoon, with many drivers completing 40 or more laps. Fernando Alonso was best of the rest for the second session in a row, whilst Kimi Räikkönen continued to be outpaced.

Sebastian Vettel missed much of the early part of the session due to repair work, whilst Marcus Ericsson made up for lost time, having completed less than ten laps in the morning.
