Free Practice 1 results - United States 2014 - Hamilton heads up the timesheets as 18 cars hit the track

With fewer cars than normal, Formula One took to the Circuit of the Americas to get the third from last weekend underway. A couple of drivers found themselves spinning as they got used to the track, including Adrian Sutil and Pastor Maldonado, whilst there were two Friday drivers in the mix. Felipe Nasr got behind the wheel of Bottas' Williams, whilst Max Verstappen was in the Toro Rosso usually piloted by Jean-Éric Vergne.
At the top, Lewis Hamilton inched out teammate Nico Rosberg, to take top honours for the first session of the weekend.
