The Force India team have kept quiet on a potential launch of their 2014 car, but whetted every Formula One fan's appetite with a livery reveal. An image of the new machinery, side-on, shows the car with its new colours - the same orange, green and white, but an introduction of plenty of black to fill in the gaps.

Whilst the car won't be physically revealed until pre-season testing begins in Jerez next week, the team have given us some hints about what to expect. Team boss Vijay Mallya has said the new rules were a huge challenge to digest but he's proud of what they've done so far. Technical Director Andrew Green added that the car was almost entirely brand new.

The genetics of the VJM07 still lie in the 2013 car, but we've had to achieve the same results in a slightly different way... Cooling has been the biggest challenge with most of last summer taken up trying to understand the cooling requirements of the power unit, and how best to optimise it in the chassis.

As well as a new car, and new driver line-up, Force India have signed up some new sponsors for the coming year. Claro are the biggest addition, with a red logo somewhat squeezed into the space above the team name on the side of the car. It's a multi-year deal between Force India and the Mexican communications company, timed nicely with Sergio Pérez's arrival.

Also appearing on the car is an Astana logo on the nose, and Roshfrans on the rear wing. The bulking up of sponsorship as well as changes throughout for 2014 has made Mallya confident they are heading for good results, he says: "It certainly feels as though there is the potential for 2014 to be our strongest season yet."
