Fancy applying for the best F1 job... in the world - The BBC search for a brand new pitlane reporter for 5live

It's rare that jobs like this come around. We learned towards the end of the 2010 season that 5live's pitlane reporter, the lovely Holly Samos, would be hanging up her race-suit. Initially, we wanted the story that she was going to be setting up a donkey sanctuary to be true. Disappointingly, Holly won't be working with donkeys, but I'm sure whatever she has lined up will be fun.

That leaves her roving reporter role up for grabs, and 5live are now advertising for the position. There are no donkeys involved in this one either, although you may have to talk to... no, let's not go there.

Here's a bit of a snippet from the ad:

So, this could be a great opportunity for you if you are a well organised, inquisitive reporter with a good radio voice and an understanding and interest in Formula 1.

The job requires a considerable amount of travelling around the world so you must be fit and healthy and able to withstand the long hours.

You must be able to build relationships easily with the members of the F1 community but be able to maintain a journalistic detachment when required.

It certainly sounds like an amazing opportunity, and all you have to do to apply is send in your CV, plus an audio recording that is less than five minutes, showing off your abilities. I'm not sure if you'll have a handy F1 driver waiting around to be interviewed, but any kind of reporting, or demonstrating of your voice should be acceptable. Send them over to Tara at tara.carrozza@uspcontent.com. We can say that the USP people are lovely, so don't be scared.

Before anyone suggests it, we're not applying, despite the fabulous nature of the job. I'm not a fan of flying, and Mr C is keen to remain anonymous, so it's not really the job for us. But, if it is the job for you, get to it, and let us know if you feel you're up to it. Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday 1st December.
