It was almost a worst case scenario situation for Lewis Hamilton in Canada today as he failed to finish the race, while teammate Nico Rosberg stretched his championship lead yet further. The only positive must have been seeing the remaining hobbled Mercedes limp home second rather than first.
Ricciardo moves up a slot following his supreme win, forcing Alonso south in the process. Somehow Jenson Button has managed to pass Bottas despite having an anonymous race and a largely anonymous season. At the tail end of the standings, Sutil's zero points now beats Ericsson's zero points moving him up to 17th.
