The driver standings after the first race mimic the Grand Prix results exactly, with Rosberg's victory allowing him the early lead in the title fight. Ten drivers get their championship campaign off to a good start with points on the board, including both Toro Rosso drivers. With Kvyat and Magnussen both getting points, it's only Marcus Ericsson who remains a rookie without a score.

It's early days, but both Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel will be disappointed with not having any points on the board just yet. Neither Lotus driver managed to get to the end of the race, so they too remain on zero points for now.
