Character Cup - Round 1, Kubica vs. Glock - F1's only Polish driver faces off one of the many German racers

Kubica vs. Glock

Welcome to the second round of our brand new Character Cup. Yesterday, we pitted two sons of former drivers against each other, and it was almost immediately obvious who would take the win. Now we move on to the next battle, with a current BMW driver and a former tester for the team.

Robert Kubica

The unassuming Pole tends to keep his head down and get the results in, as is the way for BMW drivers. However, a lucky but deserved win last year saw him kick up a fuss within the team. It's good to see that he has the wherewithal to stand up for himself, even if it didn't quite work out as he would have liked. Having been in Formula 1 for only three years so far, Kub has already made a name (and a nickname) for himself, and is tipped as a star of the future.

Timo Glock

Glock adds to the vast contingent of German drivers making up the grid, and as yet, hasn't stood out as one to watch. After being looked over by BMW in favour of Vettel when a third driver was called up to the team during 2007, Glock hurriedly switched to the bland world of Toyota. He's easily held his own against his team mate, proving a stable rock against Trulli's apparent mood swings, and now he just needs a good car underneath him to show us all what he can do.
