Britain 2012 - Driver standings // Fernando Alonso retains his lead on the championship, but Webber closes the gap

Fernando Alonso's strong second place finish allowed him to keep a good lead on the driver's standings, but Red Bull's Mark Webber has closed the gap. Behind him, Sebastian Vettel has jumped Lewis Hamilton after a strong podium finish. Kimi Räikkönen has also extended his gap to his teammate, by jumping Nico Rosberg for fifth place. Jenson Button continues to struggle, just managing to squeeze into the points this time.
