Belgium 2011 - Driver standings - Lewis Hamilton drops down the order as Michael Schumacher improves

Published by Christine

Lewis Hamilton's retirement this afternoon in Belgium has allowed both Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button to jump ahead of him in the driver standings, the Brit now sitting in fifth place. It is still close between second and fifth place, however. Further back, Michael Schumacher has jumped up to sit just behind his teammate, whilst Petrov finally managed to equal Heidfeld's points, although Nick wasn't even in this race. Pastor Maldonado secures his first championship point and gets his name on the board.
