Australia 2013 - Qualifying results // Red Bull secure the front row, as McLaren make tyre gambles

Published by Christine

Red Bull surprised no one by posting supremely fast times to lock out the front row as the qualifying session finally came to its two-part conclusion. McLaren opted for tyre gambles which didn't work, dropping Sergio Pérez out in Q2. Jenson Button scraped through to the top ten, but could make little headway. The Mercedes duo did well, and Felipe Massa outqualified Fernando Alonso.
