Australia 2011 - Free Practice 1 results - HRT struggled to take part, but Red Bull zoomed to the top

The first session of the 2011 season was cool and dry, with teams making some tentative runs on their brand new Pirelli tyres. There were a few wobbles as the drivers started to understand the grip levels, but the pace improved quickly. Red Bull put down the first marker for the weekend, following on from their good winter pace as well. Meanwhile, HRT struggled to get a car out of the door, and Lotus had a really bad start to the day when Chandhok crashed after just a couple of corners.
