Red Bull continued to stay on top of the timesheets with their young driver Jean-Éric Vergne, although they did suffer some mechanical issues - particularly with KERS - during the day. Gary Paffett brought out a red flag in the morning due to oil trouble in the McLaren, whilst Charles Pic's Virgin car required plenty of mechanical attention in the garage as well.
