2010 Pirelli tyre test - Abu Dhabi, Day 2 - The last day of post-season testing gets underway at Yas Marina

Published by Christine

It was a close fight between Ferrari and Red Bull to be at the top yesterday - much like for the rest of the 2010 season. Sebastian Vettel had the fastest time for much of the morning, but Massa topped it in the afternoon and retained P1 for the rest of the day. We've got our final day of testing in Abu Dhabi now, after which teams and drivers can return home for a well-earned rest.

Testing starts at 9am local time (5am GMT) and finishes 5pm local time (1pm GMT).

Teams have access to 4 sets of tyres per day. 2 sets of soft, 2 sets of medium rubber.

Circuit information

With the new tyres on board, we saw a significant dip in the times, and as per usual, the field spread was quite vast. With Red Bull and Ferrari on top, poor HRT and Lotus were bringing up the rear. Nevertheless, the tyres are what it's all about, rather than speeds. So far, reports suggest they are not all that different, a little slower right now, and some teams are suffering with some serious tyre wear.
