This is F1Minute - Williams win gold medal at Chelsea Flower Show.
You wouldn’t always expect to hear about a Formula One Team entering a display at the Chelsea Flower Show, however Williams have not only entered, but they’ve won the gold medal. Teamed up with exhibitors King & Co, the display is called The Williams Story and features a life sized F1 car shaped out of topiary. The gold medal came after top marks in the three categories - scale of endeavour, overall impression, and excellence in plants.
The medal is some good news to follow their victory at the Spanish Grand Prix, which in turn was followed by the garage fire. Chief Operations Engineer Mark Gillan has said: “The team's preparations for Monaco have been somewhat hampered by last Sunday's garage fire, but the impact of the fire has been mitigated by what can only be described as a Herculean effort by the factory and our suppliers to restock both the damaged equipment and car parts.
"We would also like to thank the generous offers of help from the other teams, highlighting once more the excellent sportsmanship that exists in Formula One...”
