Welcome to F1Minute, it’s the 25th October 2010.
One of the big rumours circulating last week was that Hülkenberg may find himself out of a drive next year, as Williams favour a rookie who can bring in some valuable sponsorship dollars. The name being circulated is Pastor Maldonado, the GP2 champ who has commercial backing from the Venezuelan government. Williams confirmed today that Pastor will join them in the young drivers test in Abu Dhabi immediately after the season ends. There’s nothing like adding fuel to the fire.
Meanwhile, Rubens Barrichello has spoken out against allowing the Korean Grand Prix to run full distance, as he says it was too dark. “You could argue whether the race started a bit too early or not, and luckily the water started to go down. Then everything was running smoothly - but I think the race should have stopped five or six laps before - I couldn’t see. I had a clear visor.”
Finally, following the race, both Sutil and Buemi have been handed five place grid drops for Brazil for causing avoidable accidents.
