Hello and welcome to F1Minute for the 6th December 2010.
It has emerged today that Mark Webber was participating for the final four races of 2010 with a fractured shoulder. In his new book, he revealed that he got back on a mountain bike for the first time since breaking his leg at the end of 2008, and his friend crashed, toppling Webber over as well. If I were him, I’d never get on a bike again! He raced onwards, grateful that the weather in Japan meant a delayed qualifying to give him a bit of a rest. Crucially, he didn’t tell the team, and although it was a relatively mild injury, I cannot wait to hear what Christian Horner has to say about it.
Elsewhere, it has been confirmed that Timo Glock will race on at Virgin next year, although who will join him is unknown. The German said: “I am already confirmed so there is nothing new to announce about me. But I understand that the team wants to announce the line-up together when the second seat is confirmed.”
Finally a quick note that Sauber have announced their launch date - the 31st January.
