Polesitter Sebastian Vettel retained his lead off the line as the Korean Grand Prix got underway, and he pulled out the now traditional gap. Nico Hülkenberg kept hold of his good qualifying performance, and managed to keep a train of big name drivers behind him, including Fernando Alonso at the start of the race, Kimi Räikkönen midway through, and Lewis Hamilton - who pressured the Sauber right to the line, but had to settle behind. Nico secured an impressive fourth place.

Paul di Resta spun off and hit the wall, and just a few laps later the safety car emerged as Sergio Pérez’s tyre exploded - Silverstone style. He got back to the pits and was able to continue. Just as racing began again, Adrian Sutil crashed into Mark Webber, and the Red Bull car pulled off track and burst into some serious flames. An emergency truck was deployed so the safety car hurriedly followed.

Despite losing his gap a couple of times, Vettel retained his lead to the chequered flag, whilst both Toro Rosso and both Force India drivers retired. Romain Grosjean followed Räikkönen across the line for a double Lotus podium.
