Toro Rosso became the latest team to reveal their 2015 F1 car, rolling out the brand new STR10 in the Jerez paddock just one day before pre-season testing begins. The new car features a very sharp revised nose, as well as larger air intakes and sculpted sidepods that are a big evolution of last year.
Technical director James Key isn’t necessarily keen on what they’ve done so far, joining the chorus of team bosses saying they will continue to update the cars until they arrive in Australia. At the launch, Key said: “The nose is not the nicest looking thing, but I expect it will change. The plan for us particularly for our new drivers is to put mileage on. So we’re not looking for peak performance or whatever in the first two tests, we want to get all the basics done as best we can. Then in test three, we’ll see the real STR10.”
Carlos Sainz Jr will be the first of the two drivers to get behind the wheel, with he and Max Verstappen alternating duties as the week continues.
