Hello, this is F1Minute and it’s the 31st March.
Virgin Racing driver Timo Glock has admitted he is concerned about the performance of his team, particularly after last weekend’s Grand Prix in Australia. The team scraped through qualifying and Glock is worried about dropping out due to the 107% rule. He says: “At one point we were 105 off, I think, so we had a bit of a margin. But if the other guys put soft tyres on and really go for it in Q1, we will be massively in trouble.”
He adds that the team have made big strides forward in terms of organisation and structure, but on track, where it counts, things aren’t working, saying: “The balance of the car is not that bad. Simply, we just have not enough downforce, and the people in the team have to realise that.”
Glock himself has fully recovered from his appendix removal surgery over the winter, but is still frustrated he hasn’t been able to work out as much as he’d like. He says: “It’s not so bad that I would go to Malaysia and would be worried about my fitness. The lower muscles are just a bit... unused, and that’s it. Malaysia shouldn’t be a problem.”
