Hello and welcome to F1Minute for the 25th January.
The news continues to be about the Lotus name battle, with both sides declaring they are feeling optimistic about the future. Team Lotus have the column inches edge slightly today, as they’ve also announced their launch - next Monday at 5am, and it’ll all be online.
The other new teams have their own headlines, although they can no longer be classed as new teams, can they? Timo Glock has declared his optimism about the coming year with Virgin Racing, after previously being less than enthusiastic about the team’s chances. He said: “The team is moving in the right direction and we’ve got some good sponsors on board. Marussia is a big partner now. I think they are quite straightforward and they want some success in the future, and that’s good. That’s what the team needs, and in the end we have to find out how quickly we can move up.”
Finally, HRT have confirmed they are hoping to have their new car ready for the test in Bahrain, the last one before the season begins.
