This is F1Minute - Teams and drivers think positive for the rest of the season.
The summer break is a traditional time to look back at the season so far, and talk big about the rest of the year. So far, the teams have not disappointed us.
Towards the back of the grid, Daniel Ricciardo is aiming to beat both Virgin drivers and stay ahead of his teammate Tonio Liuzzi. The Australian says: “I have to aim high because it is only going to help me for the future. I think that for the last few races of the year, I can really start to push and aim for it.”
Force India appear to have improved their performance recently, and Sauber chief James Key is keen to ensure their rivals don’t jump them in the constructor’s championship. He wants the team to improve consistency and work with the medium compound tyres better.
Meanwhile, Sébastien Buemi is confident Toro Rosso can catch those two teams up, saying: “Hopefully we’ll be able to close the gap to our competitors. If we do a good job, it’s still very possible to have a strong second part of the season.”
Finally, Christian Horner remains positive that Sebastian Vettel can handle the pressure of leading the championship for the rest of the year.
